Hi, everytime I am trying to export a video I shot and edited in 720 into mp4, I am loosing the 16:9 format and it's back to 4:3...

It works fine when I export it to .mov but that wont play on my ipod.

So what is the best way to export for my iPod without loosing the 16:9 format?

Thanks
Dan

yeah it does that. assuming you are editing dvcpro, 720p is actually 4:3. 960x720. the 16:9 is achieved by stretching. quicktime's ipod preset doesn't process it correctly.

the trick is to not use the preset. just export quicktime and set the compression, size, etc. manually to ipod specs. it works. i don't know these specs off the top of my head but it is mpeg 4. google it.

or... if you don't want to research. just export from fcp at 1280x720, drag into itunes, ctrl+click on it and select convert for ipod. it's an extra step and eats more drive space but it works.

Thanks!
I did the iTunes conversion method, works perfect, I needed both sizes so I dont mind about the space it takes.

Thanks a lot!
