Its been a long time comming, but I can now officially announce that I'm getting married! (this is old news to facebook friends).

But now I need some help (in the video department that is), and it would be illogical NOT to seek out DVXuser help in this area of all area's!

Sadly I can't shoot myself (as much as we would all love too :) ) its the whole 'Doctor Syndrome' (he cures everyone but him-self!)

I've found one guy in London, and I'm going to interview him next week, any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

Also if ANY fellow UK DVXusers are out there that have OR own/know any excellent wedding videographer company (that speacialise in Asian weddings) I would love to hear from you.

And yes, I want to edit the footage myself..

many many Thanks to everyone in advanced

Anhar

i don't really have any advice or recommendations, but good luck with everything. :cheesy:

Just give it a few years, you'll change your mind ;)

All kidding aside, congratulations! It seems rather sudden, because aside from Math, you never mentioned any other extracurricular hobbies... not that I assumed you were some D&D playing virgin living in his Mom's basement... but much happiness to you and your intended Bride!

Congrats, Anhar! (FYI - It's not necessarily old news to Facebook friends. I get so many updates from people in a day that I miss a bunch of them -- including this one. I think at least 75% of my friends missed my third-kid-is-coming announcement.)

Frankly, I'm not sure whether to hope you're marrying a real woman, a robot or an inter-dimensional species you met while building your own Stargate out of tin foil and old TRS-80s.

Congratulations!

Tips for wedding videographers? Ask how many weddings they've done. A good wedding video is as difficult as any other type of video I've worked on. (I hate doing wedding videos, but I have done them for several friends.)

The best thing you can do is 1) be sure the person has done SEVERAL... the more the better... and 2) see if he/she can show you one... and if it looks good then you should be happy with the result (even though, in the future, you'll probably rarely watch this video.

A good wedding video is WAY harder then most video guys think... as soon as the precession starts... it's all one-take action. Indi-film type guys over-think this stuff and miss crucial shots... whereas a polished wedding video guy uses a tried and proven cookie cutter technique that they pretend is totally original for every video... but it's not... and that's a good thing.

Also... 2 cams is a must.

Congrats to you getting married. I hope you both have many happy years.

Yes wedding photography and video is not easy. Plus you have to work saturdays!!
