Unfortunately this happened during transit to a shoot (broken LCD Panel)
I contacted ikan for a quote on repairs and it was $250 plus shipping.
Instead, I opened it up myself and found that the panel is a HannStar HSD070PWW1
That panel is only $35 after S/H and Tax with Buy it Now on Ebay. It took 11 days to arrive to California.
There were 10 screws on the back frame, 6 more screws holding the screen in place with a bracket (2 plastic and 4 metal), and only 2 connections to disconnect.
One was for the power switch and the other to the Panel. Aside from some mounting tape I put between the new panel and the 4 metal brackets, you just need the panel.
So if anyone else out there has the Vk7i that needs a LCD panel replacement, I hope this saves you some time.
