Ikan V8000HD and HVX202 Component Out

Hi Everyone,
I posted a similar topic under HVX Settings but maybe in the wrong thread. I urgently need someone who has a HVX200, HVX202 and who has purchased an Ikan V8000HD to give me some feed back on the AV/Out Settings on the HVX. The only setting that works on my HVX202 is 576i. If I switch to either 720P or 1080i the signal picture drops out on the Ikan monitor. Maybe Barry Green or someone who has a bit more experience on monitoring HD footage can give me some assistance. At the moment I'm beginning to believe that I have a faulty Ikan monitor and need to send it back. Alternatively either my original component cable for the HVX is faulty or there is a fault in the camera. Can anyone assist me by doing a test and seeing if you can get a signal at both 720P and 1080i if you have the above monitor. Thanks in advance, Steve.

Ok,
Update on Ikan V8000HD. There are a batch of faulty monitors where the HD component does not output a signal. Ikan are aware of the issue and are replacing my problem monitor.

So just for user info, if you find you have an issue with the HVX and the above monitor you just may have one of the faulty batch. Ikan good customer service made it an easy change over.

Thanks Stephen. I'm also having a similar problem with my Ikan 8000HD monitor. Only in my case, it seems to be associated with the battery.

With battery, signal picture appears on the monitor for a second and then drops regardless of the setting I'm on (720/1080).

With AC Adapter, everything seems to be working just fine.

Guess, I'll also call Ikan to see what they suggest. I'm assuming it has to do with a faulty battery. Also ordered backup battery which will arrive soon. Keep you posted.

Thanks.

I had the same problem...with the battery. I bought the monitor at NAB. I sent it back to Ikan and they replaced it. There are a bunch of problems going around with these monitors, a colleague of mine in Reno had the above mentioned HD problem.

IKAN 8000HD defect in COMPONENT setting; composit OK

Greetings,
I just purchased a IKAN 8000HD to use on my Canon XL H1 in the component setting. I shoot in HDV and HDI and needed a larger monitor for focus issues. I hooked it up in the component setting and nothing happened. When I used the Video (RCA to BNC) setting, everything worked fine. I didnot use the SVIDEO setting. Any advice? I am shooting a 3 hour concert in Alaska Monday am and I am at a loss to determine whats wrong. Atleast I can use it in VIDEO format to assist in focusing. I would appreciate any thoughts... Peace, Joe Ray:dankk2:
