Ikan Monitor Batteries

Hi I'm thinking of buying an Ikan. I just simply can't afford a Marshal or above. I was wondering about solutions for power. I've read a thread mentioning using the VidLed HVX battery adapter for a Totevision monitor. Would that work for the Ikan 8" HD also? If so, is that the only thing I'd need? I'd much prefer to be able to use my Panny batteries instead of buying a whole new set of (Sony?) batteries and charger.

The Ikan works fine with the Tekkeon MP3400 or 3450 battery. The only battery which fits on the monitor is a Sony L series.

Thanks. Is there an advantage to the Tekkeon? Is the Sony favorable simply because it fits onto the Ikan?
Any clue as to whether you can use the HVX's batter with the VidLed adapter to power the monitor?
