Hi, I have had my Ikan monitor for not too long but I am running into a problem when I film.

I have it plugged into my camera with the monitor battery powered, and it just shuts itself off after maybe 15-20 seconds of being on all the time. I have to turn it off and on again, then start to film, and boom, 20 seconds and it goes off...

Anyone familiar with this?

does it work ok with A/C?

try a different battery?

Without more details it just screams out "bad batt" to me.

Are you using it with one of the battery adapters, they're pretty flimsy and if it gets wobbled can disconnect the power sometimes. They have the velcro strap to hold it in place but still not a great design. Love the monitor though, it's excellent.

Hi,
i have a IKAN monitor, and I had a problem like that on a show. What I have found is when I was fixing the monitor on his support ( 1/4" screew ) the screew was making a pressure or a contact with the board; then the monitor swich off. Screw a little out and everything was OK.

Yesterday, again on a show, the inner nut for the fixation was disappeared. I can ear it in.
I have open the minotor... oh boy...
the nut was fixed with "bostick" glue...
there is modifications on the board that look very bad and I have paid 800$ for that...

not funny... I am looking for an other monitor
good luck.

Regardless, those symptoms are identical to what happens when the battery needs to be charged.
