Igus slider: removing barbs

I just got my Igus DIY slider delivered. The track has several small barbs that I can feel when I carriage over them. Has anyone encountered this? What's the best solution? My instinct is to tape off around a barb and sand with 400 or 800 wet/dry paper.
 
Use a fine metal file....then some fine steel wool...only file in the direction of the slide. Chances are those 'barbs' are bumps in the anodizing, it happens, I have to send some back because of it.
Once you finish, clean the rail with a little furniture polish & realign the carriage.
