If you were only going to buy one DVX100 filter

Which one would you get? Looking for a general all purpose filter for both indoor and outdoor shooting.

From reading through the posts here - apparently the best filters are glass, multicoated, with threads on the outside to allow attachment of a metal lense cap.

Looked over at Bhphoto.com - but they have several different types of filters for sale.

Would you recommend the Hoya 72mm 82c?

Yeah I'm with John! I'd recommend Hoya Super HMC Pro-1 UV filter; it's multicoated 6 times on each side and is very thin, so thin infact that it's quite hard to screw into the filter thread. Works a treat though and never leaves my camera.

... except maybe until I get a circular polarizer at the weekend and need to have a faff about with that. ;)

Are all the Hoya filters made my Tokina? The Pro-1 series certainly are. Also, was wondering if anyone (in the UK) knows who makes Jessops filters? They're useless for the DVX, except for protection, but they're made in Japan and appear to be exactly the same as standard coated Hoya filters. Strange that.

Hi!
I have the same filter but I'm not sure I took the right decision when I bought it...
The other day I was shooting a video clip and I found that there was a noticeable diference coparing with or without the filter when pointing to the lights... The ray lights seemed to get blured... so I removed it to improve the quality.
Other thing was that the lens cap also seems to touch the filter and it feels like if I was to scratch it...
Any comments?
Thanks

I think I would buy a degraded filter for outdoor takes in order to prevent from burning the skies and leave them with no details.
