If you thought Magic Bullet was slow...

So tonight I wanted to play with this little 20 second clip and start to play with it and see what I could do to it using Misfire, part of the MB Editor Suite.

My render on a 20 second clip has been going on for a little over four hours, and still has an hour left on it.

The problem with something like this is the fact that because you can't use Misfire in real time (like MB v1) you invest five + hours rendering a 20 second clip only not to know if what you wanted is the final output...

Celluloid is on my purchase list now because I've had it with MB type projects.

I dont see why this is such a revelation. Depending on the level of filtering you use, and the power of your computer, of course its going to take forever. You could always shoot on film, break all the sproket holes or rub sandpaper on it. Or leave it in a damp basement for 10 years- if you want the damaged film look.

I find MB quite usefull, although the presets use way too much diffusion. It has to be tweaked just right. I simply do 5 second tests before I render a whole project.

I will say though that I slammed the breaks on the MB2 upgrade when I saw Celluloid. We will see what kind of bonus I get this year... :)

I normally don't use misfire for the reasons you said. I don't need that beat up old look, but I wanted to see what I could come up with. It is just amazing to me, still, how long that took.

I'm going to get Celluloid and will post my opinions regarding it. MB doesn't bother me that much after using Misfire.
