So with Premiere, you just put in the promo code? You don't have to show them a receipt or anything? They aren't very clear on that.

This is brilliant. Kudos to avid and adobe. I don't think this was necessary to get a lot of people to switch but if they are being generous, I'm gonna be thankful.

Apple was right about one thing. Xfcp really did change the way people will edit. On pp and mc rather than fcp. Lol.

This is a good thing. If apple cares about professionals, let them show us and fight to earn our business (back).

Very smart move. Avid and Adobe obviously see the handwriting on the wall and are trying to move as much product as they can before people get past the hysteria and catch onto the brilliance of FCP X. Unlike RIM who had to learn the hard way. :)

I would recommend that anyone who's really interested in pursuing post production as a profession take advantage of these offers. In the long term, it will help you to know Avid, FCP, AE, Photoshop & maybe even Premiere. I don't see these as an opportunity to "jump ship" but as an opportunity to expand your toolset & skillset.

Well not at least until the end of September...but since there is no verification of whether you have FCP or not, it effectively is just a price reduction.

I can't believe I bought the package from the Video Guys on the last day of the month... $799 for FCP users...

Item has not even arrived and Adobe puts out a 50% off deal...

I've tried to contact Adobe... anybody got an email link for them...

Ahhh....

I believe that the 50% discount is only on the packages not the individual pieces of software..... i.e. production premium cs5.5

Videoguys does offer Premiere CS5.5 for $399.00 it also includes encore and there media encoder.

+1. i'm loving the CS upgrade, but still using FCP 6. You know, whatever works for the specific person and makes them happy.

Now I need a faster video card for this Mercury Playback engine.

So what is the final CS5.5 Production Premium price with the 50% off coupon. I can't enter the coupon without first registering and I'm just looking at this right now for a friend. Not purchasing myself.
