If you had $1,500 what would you buy for your set up?

I'm selling my Mackie 32x8 mixing board today so I'll have $1,500 to play with!!!!!!!

What would you guys suggest I look into?
1. My interests are to do music videos and short films.
2. I already own the following:
Panasonic DVX-100A
Davis & Sanford tripod
B+W Top-Pol Linear
Apple Power Mac G5
Final Cut Pro 4.5
Shake
TIFFEN 3 Piece Filter Set (UVP, Circular & Warm filters)

I know I need the following stuff:

Decent lighting kit
Field monitor
Dolly
Crane
A better editing monitor for my new Mac
A boom mic
I'm guessing a little mixer since my Mackie is being sold

What else should I be considering? :undecided

Out of the items on your "needs" list I'd say:
-If priority is music vids go for the Dolly or Crane (I'd pick crane)
-If priority is short films go for the mic (with lighting kit soon to follow)

take $500 of the $1500 and flip it to another $500. that will leave you with $2000. then keep flipping your money until you really know what you want to buy.

Is that some sort of dark art magic trick? please teach me...id love to fold money your way...

LOL, I used to "flip" my money then tried my hand in the stocks... worked out great then really bad.

Anyway, I have a nice little JVC beater that I'm using for capturing and I was thinking of getting a crane and mic.

Rostronics gives DVXUser's a discount as well so make sure you ask.. those briteks are sweet lights. I would ditch the umbrella though and get another softbox.

I have to pay an extra $45 to replace the umbrella for a softbox. Is that worth it?

Also, what's the benefit of upgrading the 650W lights with the 600W Focus control Lights?

What the hell are focus control lights? lol

..........im guessing....focusable lights....? haha

Probably just to soften the light and focus on certain objects. Like making the light smaller so it can focus more onto a specific object..instead of a huge area.

Last time I used one of thsoe lights was for my school play. Those things get maddd hott.
