I have a capture device (Hauppauge HD PVR) for capturing videos from my Xbox 360 (and any other anologue/component/composite device) and it can record a maximum of 1080i (1920x1080 pixels at 60fps interlaced).
Say I set it to record 1080i, set the xbox to 1080i and capture a video.
Then I import it into Sony Vegas and re-render the file at 1920x1980 with a framerate of exactly half the framerate of the video, and also set it to deinterlace..
Is this techically 1080 progressive frames or is it just some sort of mashup of both and forced to run at 30 frames instead of 60?
I'm familiar but not very knowledgable on the whole FPS, deinter/interlacing and such.
Basically, if I convert a 60i video to a 30p video (and it is of a 1920HD resolution) does it count as being 1080p?
