If I have a noisy preamp on my camera

I have one channel on my camera that is noisy.  I can hear what sounds like "static" on channel 1.  Channel 2 sounds pretty clean.

My question is that if I use a mixer like the SD 302 and output to line level in Channel 1 will it most likely eliminate the noise of the preamp since  I have that channel set to line instead of mic?

Re: If I have a noisy preamp on my camera

You can do a small test - if you have good cd player with rca outs , take good opera connect the cd to the camera ( you would need rca to xlr adaptors - open the both channels until you would see the picks hitting the -3db ( alc-off)
then export the sound to your nle and lissen what you get
if you hear hum on ch-1 , so the problem is not in the preamp stage
but probably bad ground in some place , if you dont hear anything suspishes so the problem is in the preamp 9 of corse i can assume you alredy checked the camera sound externally on nle , since if you only heard it on the headphones , that might be output problem only)
now , its alwais go better wuith better preamp if you have or have not the problem - the sd( or any other good mixer preamp) would do
a better job
