Identify this quick release

Please, if anyone could identify the quick release I will be most appreciative:?QR-2.jpg?QR-3.jpg

It accepts a dove-tailed (on ends, straight on sides) camera plate, measuring 2 1/2 W by 4 3/8th inches L. When you depress tabs the wedge slips downward where you would (I assume) slip camera plate into and when you release tabs it locks into place.

Do you think it takes some kind of an Arca Swiss mount? Or would you have to custom-machine a plate for it? Until I find a plate that fits it I won't know how secure of a fit it will be. I plan to use it with either a rig or camera cage.

Thank you for any opinions/suggestions…Daplight

Wow, this must be a mystery! Haven't heard even a 'guess.' Meanwhile, I am continuing to search but no luck yet myself. Maybe this accepts a 'Euro' type of wedge? My concern is that even if I find a wedge, the connection might not be that secure, not one to risk securing a camera on.

Still open to opinions…

I had a quick release just like it 25-30 years ago, but I have no idea where it is now. It was used with an Arri film camera and was very stable. You might want to have a wedge plate made for it. Make sure the plate is thick enough to mount properly with a camera on it. I believe it was a Cine 60 quick release.

Good luck.

Bingo, you win the prize sir kennedymax--my gratitude. Googled Cine 60 and there it was! Apparently there were two sizes, this one being the smaller. Now I will try and track down a plate, or make one. Thank you for identifying it. Daplight

Hello Daplight,

this might come too late, but it looks like it should fit a Touch and Go Plate from Sachtler, there are 2 versions out there:
Touch and Go 16mm: 65 x 80mm
Touch and Go 35mm would be larger than that, i think 110mm long.

Does that sound about right?
