One movie, scene by scene.
As much as I love the "Do you remember this?" followed immediately by "YES I LOVED IT!" or "THAT SUCKS" or "I'LL GO RENT IT!" conversations, (and I do, honestly, the enthusiasm is refreshing)
... at the same time, it makes it pretty much impossible to learn much about/from each other, as far as what we like about these movies other than huge sweeping generalities, which, well...you can guess what the limitations are there.
So, my idea is we all pick a movie, and tear it to hell apart. When I clicked on "Add Topic" my inclination was to suggest we pick a classic, and scene by scene it, we all own it (I'm sure) or would be willing to drop the $10 to own it....but as soon as I got to "So," I started wondering if it might be fun to tear apart some god-awful piece of crap movie. The lighting, the framing, the whole 9 yards. I was told once by someone that you learn more from watching a bad movie, than from watching a good one. (which means this summer taught us all a TON about movies, right?)
Anyway, so, this is a good idea, and we should get in on it. It'd be ...fun.
