It would be crazy if... within that martian ice... they discovered the evolutionary pinnacle of microbial design... *whoosh*
A bacterial organism of such subtly refined perfection... that nothing could stop it... once it was accidentally unleashed... on planet Earth!
Cut to a rocky planet, 1 million years in the future... it appears we're back on Mars...
An alien craft is exploring the surface to VO of some alien voices... subtitles explain the dialog.
"...this is the site... get a sample three meters down... ICE!... perhaps we'll find evidence of life trapped in the frozen water!..."
As the core sample is extruded into the clear sample tank... we see the ice press against the side... then the cam pans over a bit in the tank... something else is revealed in the sample... it's a tiny computer chip... that says "Stanley Dynamics - USA" (a chill runs down the audience)... cam pulls up and flies back... and we see the tattered top of the statue of liberty!
OK... well... maybe it'll just be regular old ice on Mars. *sigh* Movies are so much more interesting...
