I'm thinking about getting their mixpre10t in the future, what is it in the 6xx "recorders" that are so much better or in need of improvements? To me the 6xx seems so similar to mixpre10t (they are both more recorders than mixers) and the preamps seems good already on the mixpre10t (i.e. I will not dish out twice the money for a small increase in preamps)... seems logical for them to improve on 6xx with apps and whatnot since the 6xx should be around 6-8 years old. However, even so I'm getting a feeling the mixpre10t is canibalizing their top tier recorders (but they had to put something out in response to Zoom F8),
For me there is a massive gap between the MixPre series and the 6xx series.
What I kinda want is a 688 but at 633 size and price ;-) Which is kinda sort ish what the Zoom F8n is.
Thank you! For me I guess the only thing I might use is AES i/o, but the rest seems more useful for live-mixing/recording, and for me all I need is clean audio for editing later on...
MixPres don't even have quite basic features like Pre Roll.
