I wrote a book about student social life at American colleges

Just bought your book. Congratulations, Drew. I have two daughters...one finishing at TCU late this year, and one starting at UNT in the fall. After I read it, I'll decide whether I'll let them read it too!!

Thanks, I hope you like it! Although if you have daughters you might find it rather disturbing at times... I did a pretty good job documenting asocial behavior from young men. With that said, I've written it to be full of important lessons for young people. I'm always curious to hear what parents think of the content, so once you've read it, please let me know what you think.

Thanks I hope you like it! An Amazon reviewer just called me a "mildly misogynistic neckbeard" so hopefully you have a better impression of me.

Well, at least they’re still buying multiple copies. As we often say on this forum, vote with your wallet.

I have always appreciated your thoughts and perspective. Experience is experience, and doesn’t have to coincide with others’ expectations.

Several years ago, i was on a tour and spent several weeks at college towns. So, i am curious to see what another person’s views are.

Never in 22 years and counting has a client ever asked about my educational background in regards to hiring me.

For all they care, you could have been raised by wolves in the woods until the day you decided to walk out and pick up a camera...

That sounds like a selling point.

I believe there are positions which require a degree, but youre mostly talking about staff jobs at production companies, or maybe corporations (in house video guys) and many times thats entry level stuff. If you freelanced for ten years and could prove your skill level you’d probably be able to come into those same companies in a higher position.

But yeah freelance work and degrees? Im sure theres someone out there asking for em but I havent come across it. Have heard of weird things like reels and resumes for postions where no one would typically ask. Once I had to go back through my calendar 2-3 years and list all my gigs to create a resume for telepromtper operator work!
