Now this is more of an educational documentary i've been wanting to do for some time.

This is about suicides involving trains. My question is do I contact the train authority for permission and to get some facts from them, interviews? I want to shine some light on this subject because there seems to be a lot of people committing suicide this way. Just this past week 2 people jumped in front of the train in a span of 2 days! making the total so far 11 deaths, not all have been ruled suicides yet. But the majority are.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.. for the record, i've never done a documentary. But I know a treatment is crucial.

I'm not really sure what your question is...certainly, you should contact the train authority and try to get interviews and any other info you can from them (you don't need their permission to make the doc, though, assuming you're in the US).

If I were you, I'd be more concerned with how you're going to get the family interviews....but my biggest question is what's the story here? Is it an educational doc about why you shouldn't jump in front of trains, or a historical piece on how a bunch of people jumped in front of trains...?
