for my dvx100 (yes i still own this dinosaur! lol)

I purchased this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=324242&is=REG& addedTroughType=search and found my me66 worked better. I get too much damn ambient noise with the lav and have tinkered with it to try to get the best sound.

I also would like education on lavalier placement. I have used really good sony mics but soon as they were consealed the noise went hollow. They cancelled out ambient sounds but alas i didnt catch the exact model.

My budget allows 1,000 for a purchase. Please feel free to voice any references.

Did you try a different windscreen on the G2? I know the windscreen that comes with that mic is awful. And I agree the Sony LAV's are much better. I've used Sony's before, I'm pretty sure it's the WRT series, but I can't remember the model number. Sorry I wasn't more help.

There's no problem with that wireless system but the mic that comes with it is unusable. The day i bought mine I had the same impression but tried different mics. With a good balanced lav there's no problem with that system. Only problem might be that you will want to exchange the whole system for the next step up, the system that has the "butt plug" that allows you to use balanced mics. It's only $100 more if you buy the butt plug with the system but it's like $300 morer if you buy it seperate down the line. You'll want it. There aren't really many good unbalanced lavs and you'll always be limited to non-pro audio with unbalanced.

I agree -- buy the version of the kitt that comes with the, as the previous poster calls it, "butt plug." I bought a countryman lav for $200 and it's awesome either wired right into the camera or with the butt plug.
