i have a short movie coming up and im gonna shoot on a dvx100a im gonna edit on premiere pro 1.5 with a dvstorm 2 but i want to compose my own music. currently my audio editor is adobe's audition. but i wanan know any suggestions for like a nice keyboard that i connect to a computer and layer in different instruments. i recently bought an oxegen 8 mini midi controller and found that theres a delay between when i push a key and when i hear the sound, also i want the instruments to sound as real as possible . ill take any suggestions please. i wanna do it all myself but dont have a lot of money.

but then how do i play it, i wanna like play a keyboard and have really good sounds that i can layer in a software and record what i play

Oh, do a search in MEMBERS (Top of menu) and select his name when you see it. It will give you the option for sending a PM (private Message!)

how does reason work do i play a keyboard with an instrument selected and record it?

I just DL'd the DEMO and am checking it out but the site said you could or could not use Keyboards (MIDI). I think IAl has the kind where you can use MIDI, Guitar, whatever you want.

well tell me how it goes i dont want like loops or anything or bad sounding midi i want really good orchestra sounds

NO idea. Its doing something but there is no sound as I have no idea what Im doing. Its basically a mixing studio and I dont know how to turn it on.

E-MU makes good keyboard (and module) synths at a variety of prices. You can also go a little lower with an Alesis, (which I have). I'm tired of it now, but it was a great buy at about 600 bucks (About 7 years ago)

geniuselvs- go to this site if you want realistic sounding sounds. This is what I'm using to score my films. for $250, its sounds pretty dam good if you know what your doing.

You might want to get a sequencing program for this. Check it out and listen to its demo.

Blue, how are the Garritan samples? I'm using Reason and Garritan looks promising. How good does it sound?

If you know what you're doing it sounds really real. Go on their website and check out some of their costumer samples. I should have mine posted up soon. I'm just trying to find a good host I can put my music up. I'm happy with my GPO. You do need a shet load of ram to run this plugin correctly. I have 1gigRDRAM.

some good suggestions here so far , ive never used either of those peices of software, but reason has had many good reviews from artists using it. im not really sure of the type of set-up/workflow your looking to put together though.
