amazon studios 18 month option lock question

if i were to distribute elsewhere during my 18 month 'locked option' with amazon studios. for example, a foreign european cable network or another internet venue, what is the worst that could happen?
 
There is no way anyone here can give you advice on how to get around or otherwise subvert the contract you signed. You really need a lawyer for that kind of legal dance.

I believe they have two seperate contests, one for scripts and another for movies. The movies that win do give part of the winnings to the script, if it was submitted. But a movie can win on its own. But a movie has to be long enough to enter.
 
ok you got a good point. sigh now the question is......where can i find myself an entertainment lawyer? is it as easy as contacting them by cold calling the office?
 
Nah, entertainment lawyers prefer naval semaphore for contact. Go to the nearest yacht club and start signaling, an entertainment lawyer will contact you.

I am so worried now.. .and regretting i posted our feature film on amazon
what are the chances really? that they will steal our story idea and even sell the film without giving us a penny???
 
I have a serious question, and this will become important to me as I have finished my first feature length film and it is now time to market and distribute.

If not Amazon Studios, which seems like a very accessible form of distribution, what other options have you guys explored and been successful through?

Also OP, I realize that you are side stepping everyone who is asking you to post a link. You already gave the movie to Amazon, there is no reason for not letting your fellow film makers to have a look at it and let you know your chances.
