ok guys I have asked this questions a lot of times but no one can give me a
straight answer, I want to export to AE from vegas using raylight and then bring it back to vegas, is anyone doing that here? see the raylight is the one that complicates things because I dont know if I should render at full quality to take it to AE and I dont even know what to render it as?

can anyone help

You should be able to render out at full resolution using the DVFilm RAYLIGHT codec. As long as AE is installed on the same machine, it should be able to read it.

should I use 720 24p HD intermediate render option?

by the way that render option in vegas is only available in vegas 7

When you choose your AVI format, first choose "default (uncompressed)" -- it should match the settings of your timeline.

Then, on the Video tab, under Video Format, choose DVFilm RAYLIGHT.
