I own the Panasonic DVX 100B with the standard def 55mm achromat. I am low on funds and wish to improve light loss as well as picture quality. I'm thinking of purchasing a HD 72mm achromat in addition to the Cinescreen II. My first question is should I purchase the HD 72mm achromat from Redrock for $302 or go with a Cinevate for $180. Is the Cinevate 72mm good enough quality or should I kick in the extra money and get the Redrock for $302?
My second question regards the light improvement I wish to get with the Cinescreen II. I can buy this for $125. Redrock is obviously trying to maximize sales so I'm getting the whole Encore upgrade and Micro X flip function spiel. All for the low low price of $1110 and I still would not have the HD achromat. My question is this, will I be doing myself a disservice by purchasing the HD 72mm achomat from Cinevate and the Cinescreen II for for a total of $305 or is the greatness of the Encore and flip function for $1100 justified in spending the additional funds? Thanks
