I noticed this and dont know if its new or I just became aware of it

I have vegas 8 32bit, I have video on the video track. I fix it and then on top of it I add a video track and I put text it . So there are two video tracks one with text and below it the one with the actual video. It seems when I do that the video in the preview windows gets a little darker. Is that normal?
 
The background on the text probably isn't fully transparent. Change the A value for the background color to 0.
 
yep that fixed it, its weird its been the same forever I wonder how it changed. Thank you very much :) Have a happy thanksgiving.
