Hey everyone,
I just got an HMC150 and my aim is to someday shoot ski/bike/surf films and documentaries. While continuing to shoot that stuff, I will also be doing some event shooting to help pay for the camera and make some extra cash for film budgets and equipment. Anyway, I am finding I really need more telephoto capability than the HMC's 13x lens offers.
So far, I've found two options:
35mm Adapter + Telephoto FD Lens = ~$1400 ??
or...
http://www.schneideroptics.com/Ecommerce/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?CID=1545&IID=6826 = $1025
I see that the film equivalent for the tele-converter is 307.5-612mm. How do these numbers stack up against a 35mm adapter + 300mm lens on my HMC?
I am temped to go with the adapter+lens route because not only would I be getting the telephoto capability I want, I would also have an adapter for other uses too (I already have an FD 50mm f1.4. But would I be sacrificing too much sharpness and portability by going with the adapter over the tele-converter?
What's your take? What would you recommend?
Any advice will be appreciated!
Thanks.
