I need some help!

Hi, I'm an IB film student from Yangon. I would like to know how to light an actor who is shot differently with a greenscreen. This is what the scene is going to look like. There is a fading sunset in fast-forward but the main actor is in normal time. How do I light the actor so that he doesn't look like he was filmed in a different place? Suggestions, please?

Well, you need to ask yourself what the actors would look like if he was actually there. Where would the light be coming from? What color temperature? Is there lots of shadows on his face? How is the exposure at sunset? If the sun is moving then the light needs to be moving too, not the easier thing to do on a low budget.

I agree with HV. If you have the time it is a good idea to work backwards. Either render, or shoot, the sunset first, then you have an image to work with.
At the very least it sounds like you will have to do some dancing with the light, perhaps using a larger instrument with a dimmer (to change the brightness AND the color balance) as well as flagging the light with a flag to simulate it falling below the horizon.

Also, get your subject as far away from the Greenscreen and is possible, and the light that is on them, so that their light isn't hitting the green; making it harder to work with in post and also being able to keep your green the same color temp at all times.

Good Luck,
W
