I need LONG 15mm support rods- where?!

I am planning on buying CAVision's 15mm support rod system ($160 on B&H!), but as far as I can tell the rods are only 6" long. Down the road I'm planning on getting a mattebox, FFocus system, and 35mm adapter, so I need the rods to be long - where can I find longer 15mm rods, I can't find them anywhere!!

Thanks in advance!

hey thanks taubkin! by the way, do you have the M2? I'm split between the Redrock and the new SGPro, I'd just prefer to buy my rod system separately

i think the cavision rods are 10" actually. does anybody know a place that has these in stock. i need them yesterday...

Yep, I just measured mine, and can confirm that they are 10", and that you'll want longer rods then that.

I got mine from Rush and EVS. Talk with him and I'm sure he could hook you up. Although, from what I understand, cavision is not the greatest supplier, and sometimes does not supply its venders in a timely matter. But check with Rush, and if they have them in stock he'll get them to you.

I love my M2. But I bought it for 850 dollars, so I thought that was a very sweet deal, considering I got the rod support along (wich is great quality, much better than cavision).

I would reccomend the M2 to everyone who appreciates the 35mm adapter "looks". The only remark I have is that it's a look, an aesthetic that you have to commit to. It's not a camera upgrade, that you install, and never take it off again. There are pros and cons, that need to be addressed on a job to job basis...

is 10" not long enough for the dvx, a 6" 35 adaptor, and a mattebox? do tell because i was about to buy the cavision 10" rods....

I was about to buy the CAVision rods (... and mattebox too) until I read how poorly a lot of their manufacturing is across this forum. I am nothing leaning towards using redrock products exclusively

However, I read on Redrocks' website that their M2 is 12 lbs (understandable) but that their 15mm rod system weighs nearly 22 lbs !?!?!? is that extreme, or is it just me?

P.S. thank you for everyone's input!

Correction: from our FAQ:

HOW MUCH DOES THE M2 WEIGH?

The adapter weighs 1lb 15 oz

Our rod support system weighs 2lb 10.5 oz
