Hello
I need some advice from cannon hv 20 users and from users of the Mac pro
I am presently transferring over 100 hours of hi def video off of hv20 camera tapes (mini do). The footage was shot in 1080 i.
I have run into the classic problem of the camera icon for hv 20 camera is not recognized.
I sought a solution in bring up a windows xp interface on the Mc Pro I am using with os X version 10 .6.4
No luck as yet getting the camera recognized on the desktop or within compressor.
I have received the advice to go with a USB out to fire wire in connection to the Mac pro.
Lately I have heard that Compressor and final cut can recognize and transfer the tape camera material off the hv 20 cannon camera
So I figure it is my problem navigating the programs.
Transferring the hv 20 footage to a Mac pro platform has been much discussed so I don’t feel like I am too negligent in my questions.
My goal again is to liberate the cannon hv 20 tape footage then on into uncompressed quick times which will be stored onto hard drive externals and on DVD and blue ray in preparation for editing.
I seem to have a problem navigating software …
1)compressor 3.5.
2) Final cut 7
3) The xp windows interface and the cannon soft ware for transfer IF I must resort to this manner or method of transfer ‘
I will continue reading manuals and online instructions
But advice based on this request letter would help --
Thanks for any help.
I am in Los Angeles posting a rather large project.
Regards
