I need help so bad, this sucks

I shot a project and need to have it edited, scored, color corrected and sent by next week and what goes wrong on me? FCP!

I shot in 24pa, dumped as DV NTSC 48 KHz Advanced (2:3:3:2) Pulldown Removal, sequence is at 23.98 and when I drop a video clip into the timeline and play it, the audio plays normal but the video just remains on one frame.

The video clip in the time line has a green line over it (like the red render line) so I rendered that out but naturally when I do anything to the clip, the green line comes back......

What am I to do? I can't edit like this.....

Also, I erased everything and redumped into FCP four times and have got the same results all four times.
 
First up, we need to know what Mac you're editing with, RAM, and hard drive config.

Go to the Sequence menu and check both Render and Render All. Make sure EVERY level of rendering has a check mark by it.

Aside from that, I'd need to know your machine specifics, and FCP version. This isn't a situation I'm familiar with.

Never really saw the problem you're talking about. Mac should be fine, what G5 model is it? There's lots of G5s. Download FCP Rescue and trash the prefs. Maybe even use the Render Manager to trash all the render files. Did you try to render first just to see what happens?

Make sure that in the Sequence menu, under Render and Render All you have a check mark next to all the render levels.
 
Check you sequence setting again. This ususally happens when you have a sequence set to HD (you hit the spacebar it plays but you can't see anything on the monitor when you stop it reappears). If you captured DV and you are getting the red line in FCP there is a conflict. To make absoulutely sure close down FCP reopen and close all projects if it tries to open an existing project. Go to easy setups and away you go.
 
Or -- View - External Video ALL FRAMES...

Also -- make sure your windows aren't overlapping somewhere or the canvas window isn't set to something other than Fit To Window or smaller.
