Looking for a woman
i'm using vegas 8 and and need some help with rendering a file. i want the resolution to be 640x360. but with everything i try, the file size ends up being too large. what settings do i need to use to produce the best image but with the smallest file size possible?

Why does it have to be .mov?

What codec are you using?

for lovefest i thought it had to be .mov or .mp4. when i rendered to mp4 i thought it looked a little washed out in comparison to .mov.

as far as the codec, i really don't know much about that stuff.

okay, after doing some reading i realized the codec i want to save is an h.264.

sorry for the noob question, i just don't know understand all the technical stuff.

The MainConcept AVC render will do what you want. It's AVC/MPEG-4/H.264, which are all flavors of the same thing.

i tried that and it doesn't look like it does on the video preview in vegas. i guess i'll just have to compensate by upping the contrast and saturation.

AVC with either the MainConcept or the Sony AVC codec will be a bit washed out, yes. This has been noticed before. I suggest you slightly over-saturate a bit in order to come out well as .mp4 h.264.
