I need advice on a dolly and crane jib

As far as a dolly is concerned I use and am very pleased with Indie Dolly. Their entire system is lightweight- yet sturdy. Is easy to use- yet provides great results. I would encourage you to check them out.

I also have an EZFX jib system- including the heavy duty base and extensions lifting the arm to about 16 feet. Again this is a rock solid system that is easy to set up and tear down yet provides stellar results.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

I have Kessler 8' / 12' crane and it works great!

Bought it from a fellow DVXuser. Around the $600 mark. For me, it was money well spent. I fly about 15lbs. of camera on one end and about 35 lbs of counterweight on the other end...usually on a Libec T72 with H55 head. As a backup I can run it on either a Bogen 3186 or Bogen 3040 sticks with 3063 head. The 3186 is a really strong tripod but short. The 3040 is a fairly robust set of sticks...the 3063 head leaves a little to be desired, especially for jib work. As for a dolly, look into fabrication of your own. There are plenty of DIY threads here and elsewhere. Me and my business partner build a dolly/trak system for $200 - $300 that's as good as any commercially available. Track length: about 22 feet.

Best...Jeffro
