I need a script

I'm a high school student, and love film making.... however I lack creativity when it comes to writing scripts. I'm more into the technical aspects like I like to make peoples idea's happen.

I'd like to shoot a short as a sort of a school project, Utlilizing my peers from school for actors. Little to no budget, preferably high school setting. I'm open to anything, Shoot me a p.m. if you got a script, your will be properly acredited.

Rock - I don't think that's appropriate in encouraging young filmmakers.

paint - you asked for a script, you might get one, you might not, but it sure would help if you became a regular poster here.

Hey.
I JUST registered after lurking a little.
Charli since me and him are new I'll be up for writing something for him.

Paint I have an idea you could use. How much time do you have though? I could have something written up during this week? hows that?

I'm sending Paint a script. Don't see why his being new makes any difference. Call me crazy. :)

Paint, I do hope you'll BE a regular poster. Welcome!

chapel - being new is that, without credibility and the unknown whether you spend time writing a script for someone who may just blow you off. Time is your biggest asset not just writing.

Paintball - you might try signing up on zoetrope.com. It's a "peer to peer" screenwriting (as well as other aspects) review site where you will find many short scripts to read, and at least in my experience, plenty of writers that will be happy to have you make a film of their work. Once you sign up (free) you'll be required to read and review four scripts before you can have access to the larger list of about 60 scripts (you're initially restricted to 8). The main purpose if for screenwriters to get reviews of their work, which won't apply in your case if you're not interested in writing yourself, but going through the process anyway is the only way to access the big list. Once you've found script(s) to your liking you can easily contact the writers using zoetrope's internal "zmail" system to see if they're willing to let you shoot their script. Best of luck with your filmmaking career, and as a young Robert Rodriguez once proved, it's never too early to start.

Paintball and Attio, Welcome.

I hope you both will find this a most beneficial resource. We're a community populated by a highly eclectic group ranging from middle schooler's to some of the most highly respected names in the industry. Most would agree that the equivalent of a doctorate education from the most prestigious film schools lie buried within these threads.

Please take the time to peruse the various subtopics and wade through the stickies (yellow
threads at the top of each subsection) for an overview of the depth of help and knowledge available here. If I might offer one caveat - USE SEARCH. The search function offered by the site is far from great but it can save you from a great many newbie embarrassments . .

Asking for a script is absolutely valid and I commend you for being upfront regarding your situation and production constraints. Charli's points are also valid - you are asking for another's investment of time and creative angst, and doing so as a total unknown to the community (post 1) will probably temper response somewhat. My feeling is you will probably get some response - be sure to acknowledge every one. If you do commit to attempting one, do everything possible to bring it to fruition - and don't be shy about asking for help and advice.

Best wishes and look forward to seeing your work !

Well, I sent a script already written, so there was no time committment. If he'd wanted a freshly written script, I'd have felt him out a bit more before committing the time. But again, his being new here wouldn't have hindered me.

Wow, thanks for the responses. Sorry I have been lurking this forum for a while in the cinematography section and canon 7d. As far as timing, I have the rest of the school year and whats left of my high school life before I head to Vancouver Film school for film production after graduation. The reason why I am looking to shoot something with a school setting is because i will be utilizing actors from my schools drama department, and well the school is the setting because it will be most convienient for everyone including my self. For gear, I currently have a canon hv30, with a rodemic, some umbrella lighting stands from schools if they can even be used and all kinds of misc. goodies. I know its not proffesional but its a start. I start video production class in a few weeks and gathering my cash for a canon 7d.
I totaly apreciate the warm and welcoming community you guys got here. Thanks again.

If someone can send me a script too that would be awesome.
Script will be properly credited.
Hoping to get a script with a very good twist and story has alot of meaning and imagery.
thanks whoever sends one!
