I need 100 DVDs duplicated for least $$$

I have a 97 minute feature film. I don't have $1,500 to make 1000 copies at once.

Is there a way I can make about 100 copies so I can sell them myself and raise the money to get 1000 replicated DVDs?

I have the art work, etc. I can do the sleave for the boxes myself.

I can't help with your actual question, but I have a friend who tried an alternative method with a music CD he produced. He made them at home on his computer with a nice printed label and offered anyone who bought one a free copy of the pressed CD once he had them done. Just food for thought really. Not saying it would work for you at this point.
 
I've just had a look on Oasis CD (http://www.oasiscd.com/selfservicequoter/) and you can get 100 DVDs done, with full color printing on the DVD, in cases for $264 (plus shipping and tax)

Or, if you have the cases too, you could get them on a spindle for $254. That's in 5 days. If you need them urgently, you could have a 1-day rush job, but that'll cost you more $$$.

Oasis looks like a pretty amazing deal. I'd be curious if anyone else here has actually used their service before.
 
go to a local "Mega" church.....newer big churches are usually really tech savy, and some would be eager to help. Have them burn the dvd's for you (would be good to at least offer a little money) then go to comp usa and buy yourself an epson stylus r300 for $50 (with mail in rebate) to print the faces of the dvd's. This method obviously couldn't be used alot but for a one time deal may be quite useful.
 
The intersting thing about Oasiscd is that they are not just doing DVD-R copies and that can make a diffence is price for future runs as well as compatability across all players.
 
I used discmakers.com for 100 copies of my 93 minute feature. Their printing is pretty good (not quite as sharp as they claim, but you get what you pay for) and they use DVD-Rs for any run under 300 units.

For 100 copies, I paid about $365 with a one week turnaround.
