i-movie import to Final Cut Pro

I have shot footage with the Canon HV20 and I want to use i-movie to make a rough edit since I don't own Final Cut Pro. I want to be sure that I can export my project file from i-movie and import it into Final Cut Pro allowing me to make my final edit (also taking advantage of all the plug-ins that FCP has to offer). As I only have a chance to use Final Cut Pro for a couple days through the company I work for.

My question is how is the most efficient way to export an uncompressed time line from i-movie and import it into Final Cut Pro?

Sure but you would lose all of your edits- it would just be one big chunk of video. IMovie timelines and FCP timelines are not compatible.

Actually I don't think it's possible. You could export as a video file but that is not really the same thing. There is no export of the project in a way that FCP can import it as a project. At least not in version 6.x of iMovie.
