I went to St John's Hospital to get some blood work done and as I sat down for a few minutes, out the patient's door is

DOC (ducky) actor David McCallum.

I stood up and held my hand out, he shook it and he talked to me for a few minutes. I asked him how he was able to learn such blocks of dialogue and he said he uses a recorded to record the other actor's lines as a que in for his, and that's how he does it.

He also stated that he actually learned what all the technical terms mean so that he can state what he says convincingly.

He's rather a nice gentleman.

May I just say once again how much I LOVE Santa Monica.

Writer's embellishment (ala David Letterman)...

...Sensing my awe of his mere presence, he asked if I'd like to have lunch with him. I said, "Sure! That'd be great!". He walked me out to a waiting limousine and we rolled out. We sat facing each other as he began to ask me questions about my interest in writing. I gushed about my latest project which was met with a warm smile and frequent nods of interest. This went on for several minutes but the time seemed to fly by as the words just flowed out of me.

The limo came to a stop and the driver opened the door for us. We stepped out and were standing at the entrance of Skywalker Ranch. Puzzled, I looked at David for reassurance that we were at the right place. He smiled and led me through the front door. Nothing was said as we walked down a long corridor that opened up into a large restaurant. It looked similar to a Rain forest Cafe but had a Star Wars theme.

I looked all around soaking up the atmosphere as questions flooded my mind. I turned to ask David about why we were there but was interrupted by the hostess wearing a Jar Jar Binks costume. We were led to a secluded table in a corner that was surrounded by a cave-like rock formation.

The waitress took our drink order and walked away. I looked at David and asked him if he was working on a project here. Before he could answer we were interrupted by the voice of a man greeting us. I turned and there before me stood George Lucas...
