i got so bored today and i had this bamboo stick lying around so i decided to make something semi useful out of it. its extremely light, only about one pound. the only problem is that it doesn't collapse, but i personally don't care because it was free. all I did was drill a hole in one of the joints a little bigger than the screw that is going through it to connect to the shock mount and attach a wingnut to the other side to tighten it up and make it so the mic isn't just hanging there. I don't have an XLR cable long enough for it yet but when i do, i'll probably just wrap it around and use electrical tape to hold it onto the stick.

Cool - and eco-friendly! But really - who has bamboo sticks that long just laying around?

How is the handling noise of bamboo? The weight sounds nice. Anyways happy booming.
 
Instead of tape, you can go to a beauty/hair supply store and get the elastic hair ties, the kind with two plastic balls.

You could sell that to Pier One. But then you might run into Kirstie Alley. Best to keep it for yourself.
