I Love PAs

Sad Max

Artful Dodger
Specifically, really young PAs with a poor grasp of classic rock.

I'm working away in my office, and "Mama Told Me Not To Come" (Three Dog Night) is blasting on my speakers, and our PA walks by and says, wow, it sounds like Vietnam in there. Isn't that (hums a few bars of 'Paint it Black' by the Stones)?

So I explain that no, it's not, but yes, if she meant to suggest that I am mired in a hopeless cause with no particular reason to hope for an exit strategy, then yes, it actually is rather like Vietnam, in my office.

I am on the fence as to whether this is a plausible reason to make my first catch as "official" Political Police. I'll get back to you.

Three Dog Night was on classic rock stations when I was in high school in the '80s. Now, the '80s are classic rock. And I occasionally hear some Nirvana and Soundgarden on "classic rock" stations, too.

I'd say 30% of cultural references on set from before the 90s go right over my head.

Having been on set with you I can attest to that.

If it makes you feel better it instantly makes everyone on set feel ancient when you can say things like
"I don't remember that movie really well... I think I was like 10 when it came out."
:)

Well then I guess it evens out.

note: I couldn't find an appropriate smiley face.
