i went with my dad to fry's because he wanted to get an ipod. i was a little skeptical about the video quality on the new models, but they had it on display, and once i saw it in action i was sold.

i got the black model, cuz it's just that much cooler, and it fits perfectly in a 1010 pelican (i got the all black case.)

this thing is straight pimpin, man. i can't wait to get lotr and family guy on this thing.
 
A guy at work already had to send his back to Apple. The video would hang in the middle and lose sync. Hopefully he just got a lemon. But when it was working, it was SWEEEEEEt. My lil 20 gig has video envy.
 
I'm glad someone has finally posted about this thing. It's definitely what I'll be hoping is under the Christmas tree. Did you get the 30 or 60 gig?

I'm skeptical about the black... I've heard horror stories about scratches, plus I would think that it shows fingerprints and smudges really easily.
 
I got the 30 gig a couple weeks ago when it just came out.. and i gotta say its pretty sweet. I was at a production meeting last week and it was nice to be able to whip out a video and say " look at this demo " .. so yes mr. tax man.. that Ipod Video is for work, i promise.
 
got a 60 black when it came out...i love it. on the plane today and just chillin to some videos.

the black is definitly easy to scuff. so be careful, im still waiting for a little clear condom thingy to slide over it...i dont like cases usualy, but this guy needs some protection.
 
yeah i bought the sock thing... its been in it 100% and the thing still is scratched to hell.

its a little small to be doing that regardless of if you can see it.

but here you go.. i just took one pretty much sideways, and you can see it pretty clear.
 
i got the 30 gig, cuz it's 100 less and still plenty of space for what i have. and im definitely gonna get some kinda plastic for it.

the range of view is really good. you can tilt it all the way and the color's still good.

I got the 30gig because it was half the size of the 60, and i like things to be nice and skinny.
 
the 60gig is actually physically thicker? all i saw was the 30's, but i guess it makes sense...

IS that in context to the 30 video one?

Cuz the 30 gig is about a half the size of the old ones; if that were the case, i'd be down for a 60.

Alas, I just bought my first ipod last year. Not only did I miss out on video, but I also missed out on the neat color screen ones. How unlucky, eh?

all the more reason to motivate myself to get a high paying job as a filmmaker. hahahahahah.:thumbsup:
