Some de-mil equipment I bought today for props. The guy with the M2HB barrels didn't show up, so I had a little extra cash.

BTW, the linked stuff is 40mm. And I have about 30 each of the other 20 and 25mm casings. Need to find a machine shop to make me some inert rounds to put in them.

You have real DRMO sales by you? All we have around here are "auctions", usually in lots. And all centralized....I'd have to go to Texarkana.

It's a kind of auction/junk yard/yard sale - First come first serve, no bidding, just ask the price. This guy buys DRMO just for the scrap value and the vehicle parts (HumVees, Dueces, Tanks, etc.) The gun stuff, he doesn't like or really want. And that's where I come in. But the DRMO office is just up in Barstow.

Picking up the coaxial feed assembly for a 25mm cannon, 2 20 space gun racks, more brass, 2 Stabo rigs, and some medical gear next weekend

Okay, spent all evening working some telephone and internet magic. M2HB Barrels on the way, and wouldn't you know it? The guy had parts for the mortar I want to build. Baseplate and bipod. Oh, yeah, come to Daddy. They will have a loving home.

And doing a bit of horsetrading for 800 links for the 50cal ammo.

Wow, I have broken through the "gunmetal curtain". I am now getting emails from manufacturers asking if I would be interested in their static displays for any film I am on.

Today, I was contacted by the manufacturer of this beauty, through my contact form on the website:

He has some .50 cal projectiles for my dummy rounds he going to send me, and as a side note he asks, "We have have a few static displays laying around, would you be interested in one of them?".

Drooling ensued right after the conversation, used self-control during it though. This will have the optical housing for remote mount on a Humvee! Oh, Mama! Me Likey!

Oh, 3rd barrel and Jacket for the 50's on the way. This will be an M3 for on-board aircraft use (WWII bombers, etc.)

from your words I get the feeling that you have choosen the right job! seeing someone enjoy what they do is great and really makes me love what I do! keep on building your arsenal (soon you'll need to buy a huge hangar to store everything on those endless shelves!)

LOL, what gave me away?

Just need more projects to be Weapons Master/Armorer on. Like I said before, I fully intend to be the biggest provisioner of weapons for Indie Films on the West Coast. Any help spreading the word would be appreciated.

I think it was the Barrel shot, nice use for a used barrel hahaha!
if that's your goal, you'll get there!

New contact - incoming!!!

Anyone need WWII armor? I now have the connection to get it for film! A lot of this stuff is on "Pacific". And the nice thing is they consider the rental fees to be a donation to their foundation, so it's tax deductible.

The bad thing is, now, I want my own armor. I won't be greedy, just a Sherman or maybe a Sheridan. That's not too much to ask, is it? Just something to go to the store in, run a few errands, finally go pick up the footage that is owed to me. I think I'd get it then, drive up to their door, and lightly push the doorbell with the main cannon. "Hi, I am here to get the footage you promised me over a year ago....."

Matt, I just found a guy local to me with a Mk19 rigged for film use (Oxy/Propane rig) that is not ever used on film. We are going to be discussing soon how he really does not need it and he should sell it to me. Failing that, many detailed pics of it and the gas rig.

Slowly but surely.........Last week got the M2 heavy barrel, and took both barrels (Aircraft and Heavy) to the welder to fill the demill cuts. They came out beautiful!!!!! (Damn camera! Made my barrels look bent. Oh well, cheap camera.)

Okay, sadly, I am going to be trading my Mk19 barrel away, for needed parts to finish at least one Ma Duece.

I will probably never see another Mk19 Barrel available, but I figure the M2's will see more rental time. I wish I was wealthy so these decisions would not have to be made. Just buy the parts.

But on a happy note, I now have 3 manufacturers of the M2 allowing me access to their Out of Spec parts, and assisting me with tech info and schematics. Oh and legal advice to keep me out of trouble.
