I lost my tabs, little help

So i had my video fx window open and i clicked the little x in the corner and it closed it. Now i don't have that tab available on the bottom anymore. I can still go view>video fx and pull it up but each time i close it its closed for good till i go back to view. I tried draggin it into the tabs to make it work again but no go. How do i get my tabs back?
 
You had the right idea with dragging it down to the tabs. You have to drag the upper left corners together for the tabs to lock in place.
