I lost My M2

Yes. Everyone, you read correctly. It just dissapeared. Sickening right? I am tearing my apartment apart (odd), but I really think it's not here. It's not small like car keys or a cell phone.....

What a day......

On the bright side, Redrock is going to get a returning customer..... It's also finals week and all I can think about is my lonely homeless M2 somewhere out in the world. Come home, M2, come home!

I used it on a shoot in late Feb..... I was moving 5 large boxes of equipment. Since then I have used the HVX on many shoots, moving all my equipment with it as well. I did not use the M2 on those shoots, but I didn't notice it missing but nor do I remember seeing it sitting around. So it had to have been lost or stolen since Feb 26th....

I hate to think stolen because I have been working with such great crews and people. I think it must have been misplaced during one of my many shoots.

It sucks... alot.

On the brightside, I called my dad (who still manages my insurance (haha, im only 21, ok?)) He said that before I went back to college I had insured the M2 and HVX, which I sort of remember doing. So the goodnews is it is all covered! :)

It still sucks though.

Not sure what you mean. But if I check all possible places and people, and it does not show up, I can claim it as stolen... right?

If someone on the past shoots or locations finds it and does not know what it is, or who's.... I dont think they "stole" it. But if I check with everyone, place, and location and it is not found.... than I think I can legally conclude and claim a theft...

If it turns up afterwhich, I believe I am legally liable to claim a misclaim to the insurance company. But considering my deductable is prob 500 bucks and the M2 is 550 bucks, there can't be much of a scheme going on, in regards to me.

What i mean is say i was on a shoot with you and you left the M2 behind and i found it but didnt know whos it was, and i kept it, is that stealing? it was more a joke question though.

be sure to check with everyone, maybe they dont know whos it is, and most likely dont even have a camera to use it on.

Haha, I see now...... You are right though. I still have the rail system, quick release plate, 18 inch rails, follow focus, all 5 of my nikon primes, and the step down ring.... So the M2 would be rather useless if stolen.... ah well.

This reminds me of the time I thought I lost my HVX. There was a tornado siren going off during a storm one day and I immediately grabbed my pelican case and stuffed it in a corner in the basement between some boxes. I didn't shoot for like two or three weeks and completely forgot about doing that. I was never so mad in my entire life, I thought someone broke in my house and stole it or something. It was crazy and a massive relief when I finally found it some few hours later. I hope something similar happens for you and your M2 turns up somewhere soon.

Dang, I lose gloves multi-pliers all the time...sucks, but a high-ticket item like that, that's different...I think I'm gonna take these P2 cards on my desk and put 'em back in the Pelican.
