I know there are RUSH fans here

I just got home from a really long day of shooting video... started out shooting guys repairing cracks and filling cracks with hot tar... and ended the day shooting promotional video for a company that does $1M+ houses... I'm tired as hell... double-dipping is awesome, but I underbid both jobs... and then I come home to this...

That's why they call me the workin' man... I guess that's what I am.

Thanks for posting... and yes, I am most certainly a RUSH fan.

SHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

One of the first movie "Treatments" I ever wrote (Ok a movie idea on two pages in my HS composition book) was for a film version of "2112", the Rush concept album. I got to see them live after they "Totally Sold Out"* and became MTV popular with the "Moving Pictures" album. It was great.
Now, Getty Lee and Alex Lifeson are fantastic musicians, and not to take away from them, but Jebus Henry Kay-Rist..... Neil Peart is a God... musically speaking. I mean, come on when it comes to Rock n Roll drummers there is Keith Moon, John Bonham, Neil Peart and then everybody else!.

I can't wait to see the flick, and hopefully, the live tour in support of it.

* Just kidding.

AWESOME! I can't count the number of times I've seen RUSH. Hugh musical influence to me. Thanks for the post.
Reminds me of some great stories & times.

2112 was the first show for me.... once you saw them live, there is no going back!
A Farewell to Kings.... one of the best shows I've ever seen (from what I can remember of the 3 shows I attended!)
Hemispheres.....Kickass!!!
Permanent Waves.... Cedric Kushner (concert promoter) invited my band backstage to meet the boys and talk to him about opening for some of his other bands....then the REAL story begins.....

...and lets not forget the great bands that opened for them like...Max Webster and Triumph.

Yeah....but who's got their tickets for this years tour? They're playing Moving Pictures in it's entirety.

(I'm going to Jones Beach, NY)

...and I will probably be missing them at Red Rocks.

My all time favorite band. They defined my youth. I still think of Signals at "the new Rush album"
...sigh. I suddenly feel old.

They have never gotten their due from the media, but I rarely find musicians who don't respect them or cite them as an influence.

Ouch!!!! I'll compare tree rings anytime!

You guys better settle down or I'll make you equal with hatchet, axe, and saw...

You're right about peart by the way... to think that they not only got that guy as a drummer... but he also happens to be responsible for all the sci-fi themed stuff Rush did... I got chills when he said they found him working a parts counter... genuine chills.

My obsession began just after they toured for Signals (damn it!), so my first Rush concert (Grace Under Pressure) was on July 9, 1984, Monday night, 8 PM, Joe Louis Arena, Upper bowl, section 9, row 32, seat 5 and I'm not reading that from anywhere.

Another cool bit of irony was the first 4 digits of the serial numbers of the tickets I skipped school to wait in line to buy were 2112.

And seriously, isn't "Moving Pictures" the common bond here?

We're not worthy!, We're not worthy!

Very cool. I lived in the "D" for almost 20 years (after that) and saw some great shows their. I saw Bruce at the Joe. I saw Rush at a small hall in Virginia though.

Thanks to Stephenmick for pointing me in this direction.
They pronounced his name wrong. It's pronounced Peart. Not Pert.
