There's a guy who's been showing a "VILM" camera at NAB the last few years. Don't remember what company it is, but they called it something like a Video Film Simulation Camera or something like that. I think it looked like a Betacam type of unit, with a big VILM logo on the side...
... man, I should just search Google before posting.
VILM was apparently invented by Emmy award winner Eddie Barber, the guy who invented the EZ Prompter. I guess he had info at www.vilm.com for a while, but with the advent of the DVX I guess he let it expire.
Hey, don't feel bad mosesma... I invented the "Big Wheel" back in '59, the skateboard back in '57 and a whole slue of other stuff over the years I've never been given credit (or money) for.
Did you guys notice how very few female members we've got here ?
In my adolescent dreams, I thought movie-making was the perfect business to be in if you wanted to become a Casanova. Urban legend probably...
Unless... Maybe the girls have their DVXuserette site, a very secret one, where they NEVER discuss technical issues — they just complain about their boyfriends' addiction to their camera and share the various techniques to get them back on the right track.
Anyone's discovered the adress of this Eldorado ? I guess the first one of us who'll find it won't reveal it anyway : he'll be like the peacock in Chicken Run...
