I haven't had problems with Premiere until last week.

I have no idea what the **** is up, but I open up my projects and it freezes while loading media for no reason. What will happen is I'll be editing a project, and then everything will drastically slow down, and when I get frustrated, save, close the project, then reopen it, it will not load media. It will freeze. And I've done a ton of work on these projects, and the auto saves make me go back way to far. I'm really pissed with this, maybe there's a firmware update I should get? Any help would be appreciated.

First, always backup your project file. It can get corrupted at times. Second, make sure your hard drive was okay. I was having a hell of a time finishing a project in Premiere (would take like 15 minutes to load) and it turned out that my hard drive was failing.

"I haven't had problems with Premiere until last week." I've been using Premiere for the last 10 years and almost nothing but trouble, lol... CS5 is honestly the first time I feel the program works with me, not against me...

Try deleting the entire media cache or whatever it's called & let everything re-encode. Premiere pre-CS5 also in my experience is not the optimal editing platform for long projects +20min, stuff is starting to happen (even on high-end rigs). Iv'e had major problems with both CS3&CS4 when it comes to long, heavy projects.
