So mid october I order my Sg Pro and the dispatch time wasnt until mid november (a month away). I am not sure how everyone else is about wait times, but wow thats a long time. But it didn't bother me. I patiently waited and waited. The dispatch day arrived, but I was notified through email it had to be pushed back a few days. Frustrated? yes. But to make up Wayne upgraded the shipping to 2-3 day service and I had my unit in no time (I believe on Nov. 18th or 19th)

I put everything together perfectly with my canon xh a1 a few days later. ON the 21st I decided I would take it into my backyard to do a few tests. (I have a nikon mount) I attached my 50mm nikon lens but something was wrong. The Nikon mount was loose. I tried to screw the lens again and this time the nikon mount completely came loose. I examined the the mount and realized it came loose so easily due to the fact that it was stripped. The mount's ridges were also very light and not deep enough. So now I have no way to attach my lenses. Frustrated? yes!!

I email Wayne about my situation on the 21st and he emails me promptly apologizing about the problem (what a nice guy he is seriously):dankk2: and that a replacement steel nikon mount will be sent out. and should take 5 working days. So I expected it to arrive around the 26th of November.

I now write this post on December 3rd and still have no mount :(

I was hoping to shoot a music video for a band that I had been planning with this weekend. But Now I believe I will have to cancel due to equipment failure!! ahhh!!

I am not writing this as an angry poster but as a poster who has had a great piece of equipment in front of him for the last few weeks but cant use it. Its unbareable to look at the sgpro, the rails, the flip, the follow focus, attached to my xha1 knowing I cant use it. ahhh!!! :(

For example you buy a brand new BMW fresh out of the show room floor, park it in the garage but cant ever drive it because the key broke. (maybe its not the best example but hey i think it works a bit )

I say all that to say this... I have a bmw (sgpro) and cant drive it!!!!:crybaby:

The smaller indi-companies seem to have a slower response time. I have found it frustrating too, but believe in the products they offer (and therefore come back for more).

If they really want to use you, the band can reschedule. It might be a blessing in disguise. Its always a good idea to get some time in on a new piece of equipment before using on a paid gig.

I have to second that. I don't know if you've shot with an adapter before, but if not, then a set isn't the best place to practice using it. Reshedule the shoot and give yourself sometime to get comfortable with the gear and the shoot will go 100 times smoother.

Ya man thanks for checkin this post out... glad to hear your feeback.. I will most likely have to reschedule now.

The thing was (the way i had it planned in my mind) was to practice with my new rig from the 21st of november up until this weekend (about two weeks worth) and then use it for the shoot this weekend. I mean I am no stranger to working with a camera and equipment, so its not like I would need months worth of practice.

But you live and you learn.. Like you said it could be a blessing in disguise!!

Hey thanks for your input I really do appreciate it!!
Ya I do understand that it really isnt the best place to learn, but Like I said. I was going to practice with the sgpro rig from the 21st of november up until this weekend. So that would give me enough time to become familiar with the weight, being able to manage focusing, lighting etc.

make sure you e-mail Wayne again to check if he put the mount in the mail. I can only say good things about shoot35 and Wayne, he seems to be a reliable guy...

Oh ya most def. Wayne has answered every email in regards to the product, or concern, or what lenses to get etc. He is very nice and quite helpful! I am sure that the mount was sent, but possibly got lost or stolen in the mail. I hope that it didn't but all I can do now is wait and hope that it comes soon.
