I have a problem with timecodes

I am downloading footage into my mac book. The footage continually stops after 50 secs to a minute at a time. It keeps taking timecode breaks and stops capturing. Can any one tell me how to stop this. I have 1 hour worth of footage and at this rate it will take forever.:furious3:

If you have a cheaper camera and use a new tape, every time you press record, it starts the timecode again at 00:00:00:00. If you have a higher end camera, when you press record to stop recording, it rolls the tape back by a few frames so the camera latches onto the timecode and continues it through.

The way you have it set up means there is more than one 00:00:00:00 and this means that each frame does not have a unique identity. The way to solve this in the future is to stripe the tape which basicaly means you burn the timecode into the tape before you record your video onto it. You do this by putting the tape in the camera, leaving the lens cap on and turning the microphones off and letting it run for the full duration of the tape. This means that when you press record to start or stop recording, the timecode will not start again at zero.

If you have a higher end camera and your timecode is constant then this isn't your problem. Have you made sure that your framerates on your tape match the capture settings? Also make sure if it was recorded with DV you arnt trying to capture with DVCPRO or DVCAM or similar.
