I hate Wal-Mart

The Reverend
So I go in and am looking at the DVD section like normal. Seeing what has come out or if they have something I have been looking for. So I am looking around and I see they have Jarhead. Well I was one of the few that really liked Jarhead so I thought what the hell I will get it. So just to let you know I have a home theater room that is set up with a projector and screen and I am one that only buys widescreen version DVDs to play in there. So I am looking for the widescreen version and notice that they have one of there two pack deals. You know the one where you buy the movie you want and get another movie that some Marketing guy says has the same interests for next to free. So I look and see what it is. The two pack is Jarhead and Tony Scotts Spy Games. Now I really like spy games and for some reasone don't have it in my collection. So I think to my self why not get the two pack. Makes sence to me. So I grabe it and do my normal cheek on the DVDs and they are both full screen, and that is the only way they are saleing them. Now maybe I am just to anal about my wide screen movies but damn I was pissed. I walked up and very nicely asked the little girl that didn't know anything if I was to go and get the widescreen version of Jarhead and The widescreen version of spy game could she do a price match so I could get them. She didn't know so she got her manager. He told me that even though they were the same price that he couldn't do that. They couldn't do that beacuse the reasone they do it in the first place is to help the sale of the full screen DVD's. So to this I said. If they are not saleing that good then stop saleing them. People are startting to wize up and realize that you do see more in widescreen. So sorry for my rant but damn I hate WalMart

I ended up buying the Widescreen Jarhead. And the $7.00 Widescreen American History X.

There's many reasons to hate Wal Mart, but I don't know that this is one of them. They package the Full Screens because they aren't selling well, and they need to off-load them on the decreasing number of people who don't care. That's just smart sales.

Also, I don't mean to be an ass, but it's 'selling' not 'saleing.'

Lastly, don't think that you are alone in liking Jarhead. I loved it, and I think that most other people did as well.

(I, in no way, meant to sound like an ass hat when writing that post.)

Still 90 days return policy from WalMart?

Jarhead, yessss.... How were the 'behind the scenes'? Reason I ask is, I taught Sam Mendes, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Jamie Foxx video camera operation with the Sony PDX10, so that they can do the behind the scenes themselves. I hope it didn't suck.... :) I still haven't bought the DVD yet to see what they did with my tips.

haha.. I have 10 sets of scrubs I still have to return from my last film. (I don't encurage this behavior but........ After watching Kevin Smith admit to getting a job at a video store and filling out multiple credit card apps just to make clerks I really don't feel as bad.)

A mental institution flick. A guy locked in a room for the rest of his existance, and the damn flourescent light he has to stare at.

Thanks jd, it was like a little 4-hour blizzard... Here a moment, gone the next, snow didn't even have a chance to pile up. I almost shot myself for not somehow someway forcing myself in on the whole production :kali:

Are you saying there's no quitting him? :cheesy:
I think he wishes he knew how :love4:

Jake kept staring into my camera lens, and screaming "This thing is gonna rob me of my SOUL!!!!" Then, "You're telling me, that this box, this thing, will capture my image, and hold it inside????" Then back to "This thing is gonna steal my SOUL!!!!"

Yeah, all the while, Jamie was just sitting there, chillin'. This was right before 'Ray' nabbed the oscar. The man was the definition of cool.

My wife and I aren't fans of WalMart at all either, mainly because if you have to go there on a Saturday afternoon you will be trampled to death. Check this documentary out, not the best quality, but the info associated is very solid.

Walmart the documentary.
