I hate Morgan Spurlock

Frankly, I hated Supersize Me. Gee, if I eat nothing but crap for 30 days what will happen? Durrrrrr... and HE had the nerve to talk about "retarded kids in the back wearing helmets". Where's his helmet?

Free speech is all fine and dandy, but man I'm sorry, that was wrong on so many levels. He gave a lesson on being rude, insensitive, and obnoxious...not about free speech.

As such, I will enjoy my right to free speech to say Morgan Spurlock, you're an asshole. You ripped off Fast Food Nation and took away its intelligence, its inventiveness and its hypotheses and conclusions and treated us to something we all already knew, thank you very much--stufing your fat face with Mickey Dees for 30 days is bad for you. Next time you want to talk about retards wearing helmets, look in the mirror.

I'll step off my soap box now.

Amen, furthermore, which is a non discussed issue

HE ALSO PURPOSELY DID NOT EXCERCISE AND WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO NOT WALK OR DO MANUAL LABOR - THAT ALONE THROWS OFF HIS ENTIRE 30 days.

If you recall he said at the beginning of the film, something to the extent of reducing his physical excertion by 1/5th or some ratio I can't remember, so instead of walking around NYC like he normally does, he took cabs constantly, elevators whenever possible etc, yet doing this alone without the McDonalds will deteriorate your health, so it's a poor scientific experiment since the control factor was not isolated = total bullshit.

Morgan Spurlock is the Michael Moore of Trivial Matters.

It's definetly sounds like an insensitive thing on his part......

As for his film, I remember the point was to mimic the trait's of the average american which despite what he was accustomed to he only walked a certain amount as statistic's show the average person walks.

Yeah, but I think one reason I hated S.M. (and liked Fastfood Nation, besides the fact i thought Spurlock was annoying to watch for more than 2 minutes) was that he didn't tell us anything new...nothing shocking... didn't try to answer any questions...

Ok, the average American walks say 100 steps a day and eats crap. Why? What has changed in the last 10 years to make us more lazy and sedantary? THAT is an interesting film. Watching some jackass stuff their face for a month is not...

And FYI, Mr. Spurlock... the company you worked so hard to trash donates truckloads of money to handicapped programs and Special Olympics. What do you do besides attack a group of people who in many cases can not defend themselves under the guise of "free speech"... so in the name of free speech I can call the Irish "Micks", etc. How disgusting that Spurlock uses "free speech" as a get out of ree card and not have to take responsibility for the truly (pun intended) retarded thing he said. We have the right to say what we want without the fear of death or jail or harassment... but with that right comes the right to take responsibility for the supid things we say... for being insensitive towards the feelings and rights of a group of people that really, in all honesty, wouldn't be able to come up with a witty come back for Spurlock.

And think about this: how those "retards with helmets" face enough teasing, name calling and hardships in school and in life as it is. Now on Monday morning, other kids may think it acceptable to call those challenged kids "retards with helmets" or something even more insensitive in the name of free speech because the saw some jackass do it.

I don't care what you eat, when you change your diet from basically being a vegan :)eek:) to eating an excess, in this case, junk food your body is going to rebel. Perhaps it was the dramatic change in diet and not particularly what the diet consisted of that cause his problems.

Exactly. Remember the skinny guy in Supersize Me that ate like 6 Big Macs a day for a crapload of years? It's amazing what your body can get used to over time.

The skinny guy exercised though, didn't he? Isn't he the one that Spurlock talked to on the street?

He was the one that McDonalds had a little party for. I don't exactly remember. I had a few while watching it, so it's a little hazy.

I think I am going to eat nothing but baked potatoes and sleep all day for a month and see what happens. I know I can prove potatoes are evil.

It's good to see you active again, Horse.

Thanks, Blaine. It's good to be back. I had that computer meltdown awhile back that took way too long to get straightened out, and then my work started cracking down on internet usage. Everything's back to normal now, though.:)

He's doing great. He's guarding the bar like a good zombie god should.

Make sure you count your beer bottles on occassion. I've caught my George nipping at the bottle several times already. He and Tony Todd were hammered last week. When Warwick Davis try to get in on the action, and get a little too frisky with Linda Blair, I had to bust that party up and separate them all.
