I finally got it...

My DVX came in today. I freaked when I recieved a dvx100aP and was convinced it was a pal model since the first website i found through google said it was the "470,000 pixel model pal version". However further research proved this incorrect.

Yet another satisfied customer from the Rush/Evs machine. Thanks you guys for prompt, responsible, knowledgable service.

I can't wait to start filming REALLY crappy shorts :)

And thanks you guys on this forum for being so brilliant and having so much experience.

May all your shoots look like film and may all my questions be answered by using the "search" tool.

Amen, Lucidz

Cngrats Lucidz You're gonna have some fun now. Good you got the 100a. I had the 100 but someone stole it. It shouldn't be too hard to find though Cos when you turn it off ant tilt it forward it klunks. Was planning to get that fixed, but now I'm glad I didn't, it makes mine unique and no prob to locate.

Okay, I know this isn't what you were referring to, but... well, once we were shooting a scene at a reasonably respectable local hotel, and we needed space to set up the scene so we moved the bed.  And under the mattress was... well, how did you phrase it?  Some REALLY crappy shorts.

Guess the guy had an accident and then didn't know what to do, so he shoved 'em under the bed.  Who knows how many days or months they were there before we found 'em...

Well, technically we filmed 'em, someone grabbed some behind-the-scenes shots of us trying to use a stick to pick 'em up and carry them down the hall to the trash can... so I guess you could say we indeed did film some crappy shorts...

Re: I finally got it...

lol

I've never had "crappy shorts". I actually work in a company in jacksonville which specializes in robotic 3 chip cameras. I was lucky enough to walk away with 5 340 degree 400K pixel blocks with robotic heads.

Since then I realized my need and purchased the 100a.

I've gotten a bunch of equipment from them so we'll see what I' end up with.

Re: I finally got it...

Wow, Barry. That's way better than the cheesy news reports where they go into hotel rooms with a black light to find the stains. :o

Re: I finally got it...

Congrats, Lucidz! Why dont you stay in town and go film at Plush's parking lot? haha!!!

What do you think you will shoot first with the camera? The weather is awful here, but you gotta at least charge the battery first. :(

Re: I finally got it...

Yeah thartley the weather is terrible. But I have 5 pets, so they've offered me some pretty ... entertaining footage to say the least.

I've been playing with lighting and just goofing around with it. I don't have a second minidv camera to use as a deck yet so I'm being sparing with my shooting atm.

Oh, and the battery was charged before I even left the office yesterday ;)

PS: I'm hoping to post an image of my RIG in the "rig images" post soon, like maybe later today. (We have to clean for a party tonight anyway) So look for that. Its not much but its mine :)
